A ‘Jamboree’ style camp open to all Sections in each District within Gwent Area Scouts
at Vauxhall Fields, Monmouth.
The main activities we are arranging include:-
Shooting & Archery • Canoeing • Climbing Wall • Abseiling • Inflatable Assault Course • Bucking Bull • Water Bungee Run • Crate Stacking • Quad Biking • Fishing • Raft Building • Radios • Spider Mountain • Backwoods Cooking • Zorbing •Assault course • and more .....
Activities will be divided into zones with the following themes:- Water / Scoutcraft / Olympic
Groups are asked if they could provide some activities. There is already the likelihood of space hopper football, tag rugby, slalom hockey, welly throwing, shot putt/discus, hop, skip and jump. Please indicate on the booking form any activities your group could provide. A designated area will be provided for the activities.
There will be an Olympic type competition for some of the activities and medals awarded on the Sunday.
The costs will be £15 per Cub, Scout and Explorer Scout.
Beavers arrive on Saturday and will be able to camp on the Saturday night their cost will be £10.
All Leaders/helpers and day visitors £5.

A Deposit of £10 to be paid by all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts
by 31st January 2012 to guarantee a place.
Leaders/helpers will need to pay the £5 in full by the 31st January.
Explorers helping as young leaders will pay £5 but will not be able to take part in activities.
Different coloured arm bands will be issued for young people and leaders/helpers.
It is essential for groups to keep to the 31st January deadline to enable activities/toilets
to be booked and deposits paid.
The balance of £5 to be paid one week prior to the Jamboree. Groups will need to add their own costs for food, transport etc.
Cheques to be made payable to Gwent Area Scouts and returned with booking form to the district nominated person named on the form. The deposits will be non refundable. All participants will be given a camp badge.
Groups are reminded that it is essential that all Adults are CRB checked prior to the camp.
Each Group will bring their own equipment, food including marquees. The site will be available from Wednesday 23rd May for erection of equipment and must be removed by Tuesday evening 29th.
It will be a requirement that someone from each group stays on site as long as they have equipment there.
Alternative accommodation will be provided in the event of bad weather for younger campers.
The theme of the camp will be the Olympics. The official Olympic torch will leave Monmouth on 25th the same day as it start of its journey around Wales. We are hoping to have our own Olympic torch on site for the duration of the Camp.
Each group will be allocated a country to represent and are requested to dress up on the Saturday evening in the country allocated and there will be a procession around the fields. A camp fire and band will follow for the remaining evening entertainment.
