PICNIC IN THE PARK

Supporting the Royal Gwent Cardiology Dept Fund Annual FUN RUN

Sunday 15th July 2012  @  Tredegar House Park

Newport is coming together to support and celebrate
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee.

As Scouts we hope to support others and at the same time   have fun with our Picnic in the Park.

It has been agreed we would support the Royal Gwent Cardiology Department during their fun run and then will have our picnic with a difference.

When the Fun Run and our activities have finished we can all come together in the largest picnic Newport’s even seen!

Yes we will all bring foods and drinks for our sections and sit together for a scouting picnic.

Newport District Beaver Trip

On June 23rd a coach containing 45 Beavers and their leaders left the Civic Centre at 10am.
We travelled to Noah’s Ark Farm and Zoo near Bristol.

The weather was dry (thankfully) and we saw lots of farm and wild animals, some of which we were able to feed. The highlight of the day I think for all was seeing the 4 day old baby giraffe.
After watching the animal show we had our picnic lunch then we visited the many play and adventure parks.

We arrived back in Newport at 3.15 tired but happy.

the all Wales Scout Camp held at the Builth Wells Show Ground in Mid Wales.

1st Wentwood Event

Amongst the many events happening this bank holiday weekend commemorating the Diamond Jubilee, 1st Wentwood Scout Troop were invited to set up games to raise monies for their group, in the Penhow village festival.

The games that were offered ranged from Batter the rat, to beat the goalie, oh and the all time classic fayre game the coconut shy! The weather remained dry and everyone enjoyed themselves!
