A Thank you from the DC

Thanks to everyone who braved the weather this afternoon for our St Georges Day Parade/Service.

Once again the young people, adults and leaders from Newport were a credit to our city and to Scouting

Congratulations - Devizes Westminster International Canoe Marathon

Huge congratulations go out to Stephen Ford and Nick Spear for completing The Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Marathon, both have long connections with the 24th Group and Newport Scouting.

The Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Marathon is one of the world’s great endurance events and a typically British creation that takes place every Easter.

The pair paddled for 4 days completing the whole 125 miles, a fantastic achievement.

The 125-mile course places the highest demands on individuals, boats and support crews and has been running since 1948
