St Georges Parade

ST GEORGE`S PARADE 2015 

 

What a good day. What a good turnout. What a good Parade
A huge thank you to everyone that took part in today`s Parade. It was a marvellous example of how Scouting in Newport can present itself. I thought the conduct of all our young people was something to be proud about. My thanks also go to those that pulled the event together.                                     
The 1st Rogerstone “Ober`s Own” Scout Band led us with perfection. Comments I received at the scene, from onlookers, reflected all this. As I said at the dismissal “everyone was a credit to Scouting in Newport.” I was very pleased to be part of it. Many congratulations to all the recipients of the Chief Scout`s Award, during the service.

Church Practice Thursday 23rd April at St.Mark's Church 18:00 - 18:45hrs

Marshals for St.George's Day Parade.

Volunteer Marshals - Names to be submitted to ASAP to Polly, or Winger. We need as many volunteers as possible to ensure the parade takes place.

All volunteers need to meet at Civic Centre TOP Car Park at 13:00 hrs for safety brief and issue of radios/ high vis vests then we will walk the route and been in allocated positions by 13:45.

St.George's Day Parade - Sunday 26th April

Newport District Scouts Parade Information
Please meet at Cambrian Road from 13:45hrs. Parade to move off at 14:15hrs and expect to be outside St.Mark's Church by14:45hrs

Service 15:00hrs - 16:00hrs, then March from St.Mark's Church to Civic Centre for Dismissal at approx 16:30.

Collect from Civic Centre TOP car park!

Let's make this a Special Parade & Service once again for our New District Commissioner

Mod 5 and 7 Training
The training team will be available at skip Jenning Hall Newport to promote completion of Mod 5 on Monday 20th April and Mod 7 the following Monday.

If you or any of your leaders have not yet completed these Modules, we will be available to guide you in the right direction.

Mod 5 available as e learning.

The recent Mod 3 and 6 was poorly attended considering the number of leaders still needing these modules for their progress in scouting.

Trainers will be available to validate other modules if necessary.

Tea and coffee will be available.

Please encourage your leaders to take part in the training.
