Message from Rogerstone Community Council

Dear Newport Scouts,

Remembrance Sunday 10th November 2013 - Rogerstone

Following the closure of the Rogerstone Branch of the Royal British Legion and the recent death of Councillor W. Palmer, regrettably the usual Parade on Remembrance Sunday will not take place.

The Service for Remembrance Sunday will still be held at St Johns Church, Wern Terrace, Rogerstone, Newport. At 10.55am wreaths will be placed in the Garden of Remembrance at St Johns Church and a  two-minute silence will be observed. The Service of Remembrance will take place inside St Johns Church at approximately 11.05am.

The Chairman of the Community Council has made arrangements for organisations, groups and individuals to meet (and park) at Tydu Community Hall from 10am, where refreshments will served prior to walking to the Church, accompanied by Police Officers.

Organisations and individuals wishing to purchase wreaths (if not already ordered), will need to do this directly with the Royal British Legion by mid October latest, details can be found at http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/remembrance/wreaths.
