Sad News

It is with sadness we announce the death on Saturday of Ramon O’Brien (OBA) who was a former GSL of 1st Rogerstone and their Bandmaster. Ray had been a member of the movement for more than 70 years and had a long association with the former Newport Scout Band. He was an active supporter and advisor of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. Funeral service to be held on Friday 20th January Service at Newport City Cathedral, St Woolas at 15:00 followed by cremation at Gwent Crematorium Family flowers only please, donation if desired made payable to St Davids Foundation, may be sent c/o Tovey Bros 9/11 Cardiff Road, Newport NP20 2EH
