A new first this year, “selling” stamps to local businesses.

Moans & Groans 2007. 

Meeting took place recently at SJH with representatives of most areas. The results for 2007 were published and ways of improving our system for 2008 were discussed

RESULTS

Have we turned the corner? We have had an upturn in our sales this year. Well done to those of you who have managed to increase sales over last year. Whilst it must have been due to an extra push on sales, we hope that the new style of stamps will have also contributed to the upturn

Nearly 200,000 cards delivered this year.

Since Clive & John came up with the Newport Scout & Guide Post stamp sales alone have nearly reached £500k and £467k has been allocated back into the Scout & Guide units of Newport

Acknowledgements

 

Torfaen Borough Council for the loan of “equipment” which was used to streamline the operation in SJH

 

Post Office, Mill Street for sorting/sifting out any Scout post posted into the wrong letterboxes!

 

Newport Scout Fellowship.

On a daily basis the Fellowship manned SJH throughout the period that the “post” was live.

 

On many days the hall was open for 12 hours, either sorting or being the transfer station when all the areas bring their sorted post to be given back out for the areas to sort back into streets for final delivery.
