As District Commissioner of Newport I would like to welcome you to our web site. Our commitment to the youth of Newport is stronger than ever and I hope this site with its information shows how the Scout movement in Newport has kept apace with technology and the internet.

  Newport Scouting in the 21st. century still has appeal to young people. With its mix of traditional scouting skills and the newer multi-media interests we hope that the district will continue to "Serve the Youth of Newport" while still maintaining the original aims of  the Scout Association.

  I know that this would not be possible without the commitment of our leaders and helpers and the progressive attitude of the District Team. In a modern world where personal spare time is a valuable commodity our adult leaders and supporters unselfishly give their time freely and I thank them all for a "job well done".
