Data protection
This section is intended to pre-empt some questions and reassure visitors about this site by listing the eight basic principles of data protection as proposed by the Data Protection Registrar (DPR) and outlines the approach adopted by The Newport District Scout Council.

There are a number of exemptions to the need to register with the Data Protection Registrar and Newport District Scout Council is currently seeking clarification on a claimed exemption as being a "not for profit organisation".
