SCOUTING IN NEWPORT

  REMEMBRANCE PARADE 2007

The 11 of November saw Cubs, Scouts, Explores, leaders and fellowship from across the District out on parade at cenotaphs throughout the District, groups were out in Newport City centre, Rodgerstone and Caerleon.

The scout association joined many other organisations, veterans and dignitaries to take part in a service of remembrance, to remember all those who have lost their lives serving their country in times of peace and war.

The Scouts were also paying their respect to the 190 scouts who lost their lives on active scouting service during the second world war.

During the service of remembrance at exactly 11.00 am a two minute silence was observed at cenotaphs in many cases this is the longest time most scouts have been quiet during a scouting activity.

It was GREAT to see so many members of the scout movement out showing our respects YOU are a credit to the movement, the city and yourselves. WELL DONE !

Photographs of the event are at www.scoutpic.com
