10th International Jamboree On The Trail
About 120 intrepid souls ventured out on Saturday morning to Tredegar Park in order to join in the 10th International Jamboree On The Trail (JOTT). This event is organised by Scouting in Canada and allows Scouting members from around the World to all walk on the same day. All starters at Newport finished the walk, with nobody getting lost (thanks go to the volunteer marshals from the Newport District Scout Fellowship). A general and scouting knowledge questionnaire was given to each group for completion during the walk, a bit like 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' with one group even 'phoning a friend' to get an answer!! It's a good job they were given the right one. The weather was good to us, even though Polly was there, and everybody appeared to have a good time. So see you all for JOTT next year, second Saturday in May, possibly being held at The Newport Wetlands, Nash.
Additional blanket badges are available from the Fellowship at £1 each.
