Food Hygiene Course A number of leaders and explorer scouts from around Gwent spent one Sunday in January learning about food hygiene, the do's and don'ts when buying, storing, preparing, cooking and serving food. The course is designed for industry but special attention and discussion was paid to the implementation of good practise in a scouting environment.
The course focused on the prevention of food related illness from bacteria and viral sources as well as physical contamination from alien bodies - not little green men. The day ended in a test, successful completion meant the candidate received the nationally recognised qualification " The Basic Food hygiene course level two"
A big thanks goes to the training team for organising the coarse and to Polly for leading it. |
