SCOUTING IN NEWPORT

Fire Safety Presentation.

Well over 60 scouts and there parents gathered together with the duty watch in the appliance bay of Malpas fire station to receive there certificates and badges for the fire safety courses they had passed earlier in the year.

Over 110 Scouts passed the badge requirements learning how to keep themselves and there families safe in there own homes.

The certificates were presented individually by the Mayor, a former fire fighter who served his career at Malpas, who during the presentation stated how proud he was of each and every individual that had achieved the badge.

The scout section then presented a donation to the station commander towards the fire fighters benevolent fund, in appreciation of there efforts in leading the course.

A big thanks to the Mayor, the fire fighters of the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, the scouts, parents and not to forget the scout leaders who give up there time to organise and run these events.
