New District Commissioner
Firstly: A huge ‘Thank You’ must go to Rees Preston who stepped in to look
after the District until a new District Commissioner could be appointed.
Rees is moving away for a while but I am assured he
will keep his contacts with Wales, Gwent and Scouting so I would like to take
this opportunity to wish him the very best in all he undertakes in the future.
I am sure most of you know me but in case there are
some who don’t;

I have been involved within Newport (based at Caerleon)
for the past 12 years and about 3 years ago I took on the role of ADC Cub Scouts.
I am very excited about my new role and look forward
to working along side all sections and groups encouraging, expanding and
supporting all that is good about Scouting in Newport District.

check on regular occasions. This method
means that I always have a record that I can refer back to in order to respond
in the most appropriate manner.
Of course if something needs an immediate response
from me please do not hesitate to ring me so the matter can be dealt with
speedily. However I would appreciate not
being called after 9pm unless it’s really urgent.
Once again I would like to say how much I am looking
forward to working with everyone in the District and to taking Newport to new
and exciting levels within Scouting.
